The Role
This opportunity has become available within our Pension Plan Administration team in our Vancouver office. The role supports a variety of day-to-day pension administration activities, including benefit calculations, member records, annual statements, member and client communications, reconciliations, and regulatory requirements.This role is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and customer service skills, take initiative, work well as part of a team, and be interested in developing their knowledge of pension plan administration.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Produce and/or review pension benefit calculations or any other document pertaining to pension plan administration
- Ensure that certain plan information is available to those who are entitled to receive it and that the information is accurate and complete,
and provided within the timeframe specified in the rules and regulations
- Provide plan beneficiaries information about their rights and responsibilities in respect to the pension plan
- Determine plan beneficiaries’ entitlements under the pension plan
- Interpret and apply pension plan texts, administrative policies and related legislation
- Provide assistance for any related work or special projects
- Develop routine client correspondence
- Process pension plan expenses
- Update member records
- Prepare and/or review the annual pension statements
- Prepare client invoices
- Answer member calls
- Prepare and/or review pension related government filings
- Draft member communication material
- Conduct presentations from time to time on pension related matters
- Reconcile contributions, expenses and benefit payments with financial statements
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education and/or related courses (CEBS)
- Minimum one (1) year of general office, administrative, and/or customer service experience
- Demonstrate attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Comfortable sharing ideas, leading discussions, and explaining concepts to peers
- Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely to small groups or teams
- Basic public speaking foundation with a strong willingness to develop presentation skills
- Able to work under deadlines and on several projects simultaneously
- Commitment to superior client satisfaction
- Strong Excel skills

Terms and conditions of employment
- Permanent position
- 37.5-hour weekly schedule
- Hybrid policy
- Salary will be based on experience and our internal policy in force (yearly salary between $55,000 and $65,000)
