The department oversees Music Therapy and Creative Arts, the Morris and Sally Justein Jewish Heritage Museum, a Creative Arts Studio, Intergenerational/ Lifelong Learning Programs,



and Cultural Programs.Key ResponsibilitiesDesigns and implements music therapy treatment as a non-pharmacological intervention for behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) for residents in long term careInterviews, selects, orients and supervises volunteer, students/internsContributes to a multi-disciplinary team and music therapy qualified developmentCoordinates services with other staff/departmentsAssesses referred clientsMaintains accurate clinical records, statistics, program documentation, and ongoing evaluationDevelops and maintains an inventory of program suppliesEnsures compliance with Music Therapy 'Code of Ethics' and 'Standards of Practice'Participates in research initiatives related to music therapyQualificationsBachelor of Music Therapy Degree is requiredAccredited Music Therapist ('MTA') through the Canadian Association of Music Therapists ('CAMT')Membership in good standing with CAMT requiredExperience in the development and implementation of music therapy services requiredExperience with BPSD and Responsive BehavioursExcellent knowledge and experience with research methodologies (including qualitative/quantitative data analysis tools), preferredExcellent interpersonal, organization, and communication skills essentialDemonstrated skills in creative programming, utilizing a wide range of music therapy program modalitiesExperience in working with a Jewish population is an assetExperience working with an aging population an assetFluency in Yiddish, Romanian, Hebrew, Russian, Hungarian languages an assetProficient Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Experience with Point Click Care and Activity Pro an asset#J-18808-Ljbffr
