Notification for the post of municipal construction inspector has been released by the City of Mississauga. They’re required to inspect and document site conditions, labour, workmanship and materials associated with the construction of municipal infrastructure such as roads, sidewalks, curbs, multi-use trails, and retaining walls. Candidates working in this post are required to inspect sites to ensure safe working conditions and that the interests of public safety are maintained.

People are also appointed to review traffic control measures to ensure they are following OTM Book 7 requirements working at this post.

People are also accountable for examining plans, drawings and specifications for municipal construction projects and subdivision servicing agreements working at this post.

Applicants who applied for this post are required to maintain daily project diary and construction logs, requiring excellent attention to detail.





They’re also accountable at this post for diligent checking of measurements, payment calculations, and quantity calculations to ensure accuracy working at this post.

People applying for this post are required to attend and participate in pre-construction and construction progress meetings applied for this post.

Job requirement

Candidates must be able to complete all duties and responsibilities listed above.

They must be able to require the successful completion of a post-secondary Civil Engineering Program.

Candidates must have a C. Tech or a C.E.T designation with OACETT and must have a Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience in municipal infrastructure construction.

They must have exceptional customer service and conflict resolution skills to be considered as an asset for this post.

Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with residents, contractors, other outside agencies and stakeholders to be considered as an asset for this post.

Work setting

Candidates applying to this post are required to conduct visual inspections and arrange for on-site sampling and testing of materials working at this post.
