Trimay Wear Plate is the leading manufacturer and distributor of overlay wear plate & pipe, rubber lined pipe, welding consumables, and VR connectors. Trimay has a manufacturing facility and head office in east Edmonton, and services an international customer base in a wide range of industries, including mining, oilfield, forestry, asphalt and power generation.
We are currently looking for an entry to intermediate level Pipe Overlay Operator to join our team. The position will report to the Plant Manager and will be part of an existing production team. Ideally, candidates are willing to learn new skills in various positions in the manufacturing plant as required by the Plant Manager. Duties will include but not be limited to:
- · Operate overlay welding machines for pipe and bend as required
- · Crosstrain other fabrication process such as pipe cutting, plate overlay semi-automatic welding, rolling, fabrication etc.
- · Operate overhead crane and forklift to delivery and pickup products
- · Loading and unloading products in a safe manner
- · Participate in training and cross training of other plant positions
- · Willingness to gain safety and quality training requirements
The Pipe Overlay Operator must possess the following:
- · Previous experience of automatic and semi-automatic machines for welding is a must. Overlay welding experience is an asset. If the candidate has no previous experience, the candidate must demonstrate ability to learn based on previous experience in the cover letter.
- · Class 5 clean driver’s licence (abstract required)
- · Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills with minimal supervision
- · Ability to work well in a team environment
- · Ability to shift from one job to another with little notice
- · Assist in keeping a clean, safe work workplace
- · Ability to lift 50 pounds
