Join the Listuguj Mi’gmaq Government as a Community-Based Researcher Project Lead, specializing in community engagement and research initiatives. This role plays a crucial part in implementing Indigenous-based protocols and ensuring effective project execution.
Reporting to the Executive Office, this fixed-term position offers the potential to transition into full time work. You’ll support the development of the Listuguj Land Code and engage community members in projects aimed at enhancing governance and land stewardship. Your work will focus on fostering collaboration and creating accessible research outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the negotiations team on priority initiatives • Provide regular community updates on emerging needs and issues • Coordinate activities for the acceptance of the Listuguj Land Code • Lead development of co-governance committees for significant sites • Conduct community engagement sessions and produce informational content
Requirements: • Relevant post-secondary education or experience in social sciences • Experience in conducting interviews, focus groups, and literature reviews • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and manage diverse projects • Understanding of Mi’gmaw governance is beneficial
