Salary: $100,000–$120,000
Our client, a leading Canadian content and creative production organization, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and optimize a complex, high-volume production environment supporting a major national retail account and broader commercial portfolio.
This is an exciting chance for a strong production and operations leader who thrives in fast-paced retail environments and knows how to bring structure, visibility and accountability to multidisciplinary teams. The Production Manager will oversee day-to-day production capacity, resource allocation, workflow performance, quality and team execution across creative, data, studio, digital, photography, production and quality assurance functions.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the day-to-day performance of a high-volume retail and commercial production operation, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, accurately and to a consistently high standard.
- Manage work allocation and capacity across multidisciplinary creative, data, studio, production, digital, photography and quality assurance resources.
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 5–10 production professionals, setting clear expectations around quality, productivity, collaboration and accountability.
- Translate project schedules, account plans and volume forecasts into practical production calendars, staffing plans and resource requirements.
- Monitor work-in-progress, throughput, turnaround times, utilization, bottlenecks and production risks, proactively addressing issues before they impact delivery.
- Establish and maintain production standards, quality gates, checklists, hand-offs and escalation paths across workflows.
- Track quality issues, error rates and rework,
leading root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring problems.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying manual processes, duplicate effort and workflow inefficiencies that can be streamlined or eliminated.
- Champion the practical adoption of workflow automation, AI-assisted production, proofing and digital asset management tools.
- Manage production staffing and delivery decisions against approved budgets, margin expectations and volume forecasts.
- Partner closely with senior account leadership, Project Managers and functional teams to balance client priorities with capacity, quality and operational requirements.
- Support the successful mobilization of new programs, including staffing, workflow design, training and production readiness.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in production management, creative operations, studio operations or integrated content production, ideally within retail, retail media, an integrated agency or an organization supporting large retail clients.
- Proven experience managing complex, high-volume and deadline-driven production environments.
- Strong people leadership experience, ideally overseeing multidisciplinary production teams.
- Hands-on experience with capacity planning, resource allocation, workflow management and operational forecasting.
- Strong understanding of integrated production workflows spanning areas such as print, digital, e-commerce,
photography and omnichannel content.
- Demonstrated success improving production quality, productivity, turnaround times, labour efficiency or operating costs.
- Experience creating visibility into key operational metrics including work-in-progress, utilization, throughput, quality, rework and delivery risk.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and production execution for large, complex client programs.
- Technologically savvy, with an interest in using AI, automation and workflow tools to improve productivity and reduce avoidable work.
- Experience managing production decisions against budgets, margins and forecasted volumes.
- Calm, decisive and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize effectively and maintain a clear head in a rapid-moving production environment.
- A practical, hands-on leadership style with strong communication skills and the ability to lead teams through operational change.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to help modernize the production engine supporting a significant enterprise retail relationship while improving operational visibility, quality, scalability and team performance.
