Airswift is seeking a Plant Operator to work on a contract basis with a major Oil & Gas client in Bonnyville, AB.

This Plant Operator role is a senior operations position focused on the secure, efficient operation of processing facilities , coordination with maintenance and control room personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Core Responsibilities

- Work closely with the Control Room Technician (CRT) , Operations Supervisors, and Maintenance teams.
- Ensure all activities are conducted according to Safety, Health, Environmental, Security, and OIMS requirements .
- Monitor and operate plant equipment, including sulfur recovery operations .
- Support start-up, commissioning, and systems completion activities.
- Review maintenance work packages and verify isolation requirements before work begins.
- Act as Area Operator (AO) and, when required, Isolating Authority (IA) for work permits.
- Participate in emergency response activities.
- Maintain operational logs and shift handover documentation.
- Make process adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Perform field-based activities, including equipment surveillance, inspections, climbing, lifting, and minor maintenance work.
- Promote strong collaboration between Operations and Maintenance teams.

Required Qualifications

- 20+ years of industry operations experience
- Strong operational and technical expertise in process facilities
- Advanced understanding of safety management systems
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments
- Commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards
- 1st or 2nd class power engineering certificate/license.
