JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce and underwrite new and existing contract surety business
- Serve as key contact on assigned portfolio of accounts
- Qualify customers’ financial, technical, and organizational capacity within RAISE’s appetite against the business prospect, in accordance with department policies and procedures
- Provide detailed recommendations of bond and account support by conducting financial and credit analysis
- Make decisions and approve bonds within account or underwriting authority
- Negotiate account and/or bond-specific terms and conditions
- Monitor current portfolio and assist with peer audits on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines
- Build and maintain a network of relationships with brokers and various markets
- Stay abreast to industry and market trends
- Participate in team meetings to provide updates related to assigned portfolio of accounts, brokers, market intelligence, etc.
- Maintaining high levels of service with solutions-orientated approach
- Identifying opportunities to upsell products
- Contribute to the expansion of the RAISE brand through marketing with existing and new broker partners
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of four years of underwriting experience
- University degree/college diploma or equivalent experience
- High level of customer service and proven success in building and maintaining effective business relationships
- Ability to analyze and evaluate contract language
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong time management and organizational skills
