This position is approximately a 50/50 split of work in the field and in the office. The position is a 6-month term and can lead to permanent employment in a similar position.
Qualifications
- poultry experience
- have experience drawing blood, or willingness to learn
- have robust verbal and written communication skills
- be detail-oriented
- adhere to biosecurity measures outlined by MCP
- have a reliable vehicle and valid drivers’ license
- be willing to travel within the province, generally within 200 km from Winnipeg.
Duties
- environmental and blood sampling on broiler breeder farms
- delivering samples to the lab and monitoring results
- assisting with broiler breeder and broiler on-farm programs
- assisting with live animal events
- assisting with regulatory administration
- working both independently and with team members.
