We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensuring that all dishes meet our quality standards and are served efficiently. The Prep
Cook will play a vital part in supporting the kitchen staff by preparing ingredients, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients according to recipes and standards
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and portioning produce and proteins
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support cooking processes by assisting chefs with basic cooking tasks as needed
- Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to safety guidelines to prevent contamination
- Restock supplies and ingredients to ensure the kitchen is prepared for upcoming service periods
- Follow proper food safety protocols, including proper storage, labeling, and sanitation practices
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service
Experience
- Previous experience in serving, food preparation, or food service roles is preferred but not required
- Experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and basic cooking techniques is beneficial
- Familiarity with the food industry and meal preparation processes will help ensure success in this role
- Prior experience with food safety protocols ensures adherence to health regulations and quality standards
