Overview:

White Bear Education Complex (WBEC) is located approximately 13 km north of Carlyle. WBEC maintains a low student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 6:1 and is guided by the Seven Grand Teachings: bravery, honesty, humility, love, respect, truth, and wisdom. The Principal reports to the Director of Education and Board of Education and provides educational leadership, administration, and support for the Board’s mission, vision, and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead school programming, instruction, student assessment, and continuous improvement.
- Supervise, support, evaluate, and assign duties to staff; lead professional development and staff meetings.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, community, the Board of Education, and educational partners.
- Promote a school environment grounded in White Bear First Nation values, culture, and practices.
- Oversee school operations, including scheduling, registration, records, inventory, facilities, safety procedures, security, and student activities.
- Develop and manage the school budget, invoices, school funds, reports, and required documentation.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, job-description review,



and substitute-teacher coordination.
- Teach or cover classes when needed.

Qualifications:

- Valid Saskatchewan Professional “A” or Standard “A” Teaching Certificate, or currently working toward certification.
- Demonstrated successful teaching experience and robust leadership skills.
- Knowledge of Saskatchewan curriculum, current educational practices, and planning for student success.
- Knowledge of First Nations education, curriculum, resources, and community-based learning.
- Collaborative, responsive, and committed to staff, student, and community success.
- A Master’s degree in educational leadership, principal/school administration training, and First Nations education administration coursework are preferred.

Pay: $131,533.00-$137,543.00 per year
