Role Description The Private Tutor role at WMC Academy is a contract, on-site position. We are currently looking for tutors throught out Ontario as we are expanding into many onsite locations in diffdfeng cities.
The tutor will provide individualized academic support, develop lesson plans tailored to learners’ needs, and deliver engaging one-on-one or small group sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing learner progress, adjusting instructional strategies, preparing learning materials, and maintaining accurate records of sessions and outcomes. The tutor will communicate regularly with learners and, where applicable,
guardians or organizational partners to align on goals and expectations.
The role also involves promoting positive study habits, fostering critical thinking, and supporting a respectful, inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Strong instructional and tutoring skills, including lesson planning, individualized instruction, and assessment of learner progress.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with diverse learners and collaborate with guardians or partners.
- Organizational and time-management skills to schedule sessions, prepare materials, and document learner progress reliably.
- Comfort working in in office educational settings and adapting teaching methods to different learning styles and cultural contexts.
- Relevant educational background, such as a degree or coursework in Education, Teaching, or a subject-specific field.
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or coaching in formal or informal settings; familiarity with Canadian curricula is an asset.
- Commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory practices, with sensitivity to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Ability to pass any required background or reference checks in line with organizational and local regulations.
