This role supports safe and reliable operations at a Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) processing and storage facility. The Operator works within a shift‑based team responsible for fractionation, terminaling, and general process operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational safety — Perform all tasks in accordance with safety policies, procedures, and isolation standards.
- Process monitoring — Maintain continuous surveillance of operating conditions to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Emergency response — Respond decisively to equipment failures, process deviations, and plant upsets.
- Startup/shutdown operations — Support coordinated startup, shutdown, and stabilization of process equipment.
- Facility optimization — Assist with troubleshooting, optimization, and routine maintenance activities.
- Equipment inspection — Conduct regular field rounds, identify abnormalities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Training and mentorship — Provide guidance and support to junior operators.
- Emergency preparedness — Participate in drills, exercises, and response training.
- Team and culture — Contribute to a secure, disciplined, and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Power Engineering
- 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate with minimum 5 years plant operations experience; or
- 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate with minimum 10 years plant operations experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to progressing to the next certification level.
- NGL/fractionation experience — Experience in fractionation or similar hydrocarbon processing facilities is an asset.
- DCS and computer proficiency — Required for modern control‑room and field operations.
- SAP familiarity — Considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
