About the Role
Position: Procurement & Logistics Specialist
Location: West-End Halifax HQ
Experience: 1-3 Years of Experience or a background in supply chain, procurement, or logistics required. Experience in food, beverage, or regulated manufacturing environments is considered an asset.
What You’ll Do
As a Procurement C Logistics Specialist at Infusd, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end flow of raw materials and products across our RCD and manufacturing operations. You’ll play a critical role in sourcing high-quality ingredients, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring seamless coordination between vendors, co-manufacturers, and internal teams.
You will
Procurement Responsibilities:
· Source and procure all raw materials and packaging components
· Evaluate suppliers based on quality certifications (e.g., HACCP, GFSI, SQF), pricing, and reliability
· Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure all vendors are properly qualified
· Negotiate pricing and establish supply agreements with approved vendors
· Issue and manage purchase orders,
ensuring accurate specifications and documentation
· Coordinate with QA to obtain and maintain all required documentation (COAs, SDS, TDS, Kosher/Halal, Allergen certificates)
· Maintain approved supplier lists and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards
· Monitor commodity and ingredient market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
· Build and maintain strong supplier relationships across ingredients and packaging
· Collaborate with RCD to test and validate recent supplier materials for product development
Logistics & Supply Chain:
· Coordinate inbound and outbound sample shipments from Halifax
· Ensure timely delivery of raw materials to co-manufacturing partners
· Work with customs brokers to facilitate international shipments and avoid delays
· Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation conditions (e.g., temperature control, shelf life)
· Coordinate with co-manufacturers to maintain accurate inventory records
· Manage transfers of raw materials between facilities
· Oversee all import/export documentation and shipment compliance
· Ensure compliance with CFIA, FDA, and other regulatory bodies as required
· Track inventory levels, expiry dates, and lot traceability for ingredients and packaging
· Collaborate with RCD to ensure materials are available for ongoing and upcoming projects
· Identify and mitigate supplier risks, including disruptions and quality concerns
