Job Summary

Permanent position | Approximately 30 hours per week to start

Pay: $22–$28 per hour, based on experience

Well Fed is looking for an experienced, self-directed chef who wants to help create and shape a new role within our growing business.

This isn’t a position where every task and system has already been defined. We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of our catering and food production, identify what is needed, and help develop organized, reliable systems as the role grows.

You’ll work primarily during store off-hours, often independently. The schedule will vary based on catering bookings and production needs, and weekend availability is required.

What You’ll Help Build

Working closely with the owner, you’ll help shape how Well Fed manages:

- Catering preparation and execution
- Weekly kitchen prep and food production
- Baking
- Freezer-food production
- Ingredient, packaging, and café-supply ordering
- Inventory and stock levels
- Production schedules and workflows
- Food quality, consistency, organization, and kitchen standards

We have a strong foundation, but we want the person in this role to bring ideas, experience, and initiative. You’ll have the opportunity to improve systems, solve problems, and help define what this position becomes.

What We’re Looking For

- Professional kitchen, production, or catering experience is required
- Solid cooking, baking, and food-preparation skills
- Able to work independently and make sound decisions




- Comfortable creating structure—not simply following an established routine
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Able to manage multiple catering deadlines and changing priorities
- Interested in taking ownership and growing with the business
- Knowledge of food safety and proper food-handling practices
- Available for a flexible schedule, including weekends and early mornings or evenings when required
