Job Title: Production Worker / Candy Maker - Full Time / Part-Time (Seasonal position)
Reporting to: Production Manager
Position overview The production staff will be responsible for daily tasks of the operations to effectively plan, organize, and direct the execution of production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production
On a daily basis: · Paying close attention to food handling safety and quality guidelines and following production specifications ensure overall daily as well as individual production requirements are met.
· Strictly adhering to food safety guidelines and good housekeeping, ensure work areas are clean and meet all standards for cleanliness and safety.
· Carefully and neatly assist with product packaging, following all company specifications and using product-specific packaging materials.
· While following all factory sanitization guidelines, ensure all equipment, including machinery, small wares, and storage containers, are clean and sanitized.
· Accurately fill out all safety food handling logs, including HACCP logs, hot and cold holding logs, cooling logs, fridge temperature logs, final cook temp logs (as appropriate), cleaning logs, and any other logs as specified by company policy.
· Carefully dress in the appropriate PPE and sanitary clothing, including aprons, gowns, beard nets, hair nets, masks, foot coverings, etc., as required by company policy or the supervisor.
On an ongoing and/or as needed basis:
· With a sense of urgency, report to a supervisor and/or remove from circulation any damaged equipment, including machinery, small wares, or storage equipment.

Production Quality and Food Safety
On a daily basis: · Using learned best practices and established guidelines, ensure HACCP and other food safety standards are always met and escalate any issues to the supervisor in a time-sensitive manner.
· Using impeccable attention to detail skills, monitor the production line for any food safety violations and immediately report any violations to a supervisor.
On an ongoing and/or as needed basis:
· Using learned best practices and established HACCP guidelines, clean and sanitize work areas on an ongoing basis and at pre-scheduled times, and ensure all corresponding logs are filled out correctly.
· Using established HACCP guidelines, conduct sanitary and hygiene inspections, correcting actions as needed and reporting any ongoing or urgent issues to the supervisor as soon as possible.
1. Policy, Safety and Environment
On a daily basis: · Keeping all company guidelines in mind, follow established personnel policies and report any issues to the supervisor or the appropriate manager.
· Follow all established safety policies and practices.
· Immediately report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or near-misses to the supervisor or a manager.
On a monthly basis:
· Using the established monthly chores calendar and with great attention to detail, conduct all inspections, checks, and cleaning tasks on the facility and/or equipment, disassembling equipment and reassembling equipment according to manufacturers’ guidelines and/or company specs.
1. Miscellaneous
On an ongoing and/or as needed basis: · With attention to detail and with the appropriate level of urgency, complete any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or a manager.
Requirements and Personal Attributes
- Experience in food production
- Results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels
Special Conditions:
- Safety requirements on sites, protective clothing, safety glasses, and headgear (provided).
- Work boots (not provided).

Pay: $16.75 per hour

- Cloverville, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Food handling: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
