Position Overview
Cdn. Power Pac is seeking an organized and motivated Project Coordinator to support our electrical construction projects from startup through completion.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, estimators, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to help keep projects organized, documented, and on schedule. This role is well suited to someone who is detail-oriented, communicates effectively, and is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project managers with the planning, coordination, and administration of electrical construction projects
- Organize and maintain project documents, drawings, specifications, contracts, and correspondence
- Prepare, track, and distribute requests for information, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and other project documentation
- Maintain project logs, including RFI, submittal, change-order, procurement, and document-control logs
- Assist with project schedules, progress tracking, and milestone updates
- Coordinate material orders, equipment requirements, and delivery schedules with suppliers and site teams
- Communicate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members
- Assist with preparing meeting agendas, taking meeting minutes, and following up on action items
- Review drawings and specifications to help identify project requirements and potential issues
- Support the preparation of purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and project cost documentation
- Assist with progress billings, cost tracking, forecasting, and project reporting
- Track changes in project scope and help prepare supporting documentation for change orders
- Support project startup, closeout, commissioning, and turnover activities
- Help ensure project information is accurate, current, and distributed to the appropriate team members
- Promote compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and health and safety requirements
Qualifications
- Previous experience in project coordination, construction administration, or a related role
- Experience in the electrical or construction industry is an asset
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Solid organizational and document-control skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and resolve issues
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Experience with construction management, scheduling, document-control, or accounting software is an asset
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering technology, business administration, or a related field is an asset
- Knowledge of electrical construction practices and terminology is an asset
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Valid driver’s licence may be required
