CMS Building Consultants, based in Markham and serving clients throughout Ontario since 1997, provides a diverse range of engineering and building consultation services specializing in the rehabilitation of existing buildings. Our team members bring a variety of professional backgrounds including civil engineering, architectural science, and project management. CMS is looking for an experienced, talented, adaptable individual with strong technical knowledge of building elements and excellent customer service and project management skills. Canadian experience is an asset, along with strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills. The successful candidate should be a self-motivated, results-oriented, and dedicated to achieving positive outcomes.
Candidates must have a good understanding of the Ontario Building Code and demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
Requirements:
- University or College degree in Engineering (Architectural, Civil) or Architectural Science
- 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience in project management and engineering services
- Previous field experience in residential and/or commercial building construction
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence and/or Project Management Qualified (PMP) certification is preferred
- Strong English proficiency both written and verbal
- Proficiency in MS office, Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, SketchUp
- Good understanding of the Ontario Building Code (OBC)
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence with access to a vehicle
Main Job Duties:
- Be the project lead from inception to completion, including defining project scope, schedule, budget planning, and design coordination
- Manage contract administration, project coordination, reporting and overall project delivery
- Identify, assess and mitigate potential risks to ensure projects remain on track
- Close monitor project progress and provide timely updates and feedback to relevant parties
- Manage stakeholders expectations
- Supervise and provide guidance to team members
- Prepare and review technical reports and documentation
- Participate in continuing professional development to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills
