What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver propane to various work sites in [x location] and the surrounding area.
- Filling propane and loading/unloading for deliveries to customers sites.
- Ensure propane is secure per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
- Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
- Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
- Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites
- Double-check deliveries to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
- Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified
- Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify and advise of any mechanical issues.
- Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
- Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid Class 3 or 5 driver's license with air endorsement and a clean or satisfactory drive's abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
- Previous LPG/propane experience is considered an asset.
- Prior commercial driving experience is required.
- Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
- Comfortable with city driving.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
- Available and willing to work overtime when required, particularly during peak seasonal demand (winter months).
- Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
- Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
- Ability to identify and describe mechanical issues on the truck/trailer.
- Very customer-oriented with a professional and courteous attitude.
