Role Description This is a contract, on-site Psychiatrist role based in Canada. The Psychiatrist will conduct independent psychiatric assessments of individuals involved in motor vehicle and workplace accidents, focusing on functional status, mental health, and treatment outcomes. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing medical and psychological records, interviewing clients, administering and interpreting appropriate psychiatric evaluations, and documenting clinical findings.

The Psychiatrist will prepare transparent, objective, and comprehensive written reports that support case resolution and inform stakeholders such as insurers,



legal teams, and employers. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary assessors, adhering to professional and regulatory standards, and maintaining impartiality throughout the assessment process.

Qualifications

- Advanced clinical skills in Psychiatry and Mental Health, with the ability to conduct thorough, evidence-based psychiatric evaluations.
- Demonstrated expertise in Psychiatric Care and Medicine, including assessment of complex cases related to accidents and occupational injuries.
- Experience or training in Adolescent Psychiatry and broader Psychiatry practice, supporting assessments across different age groups.
- Current license to practice psychiatry in Canada and good standing with relevant provincial regulatory college.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and objective assessment reports.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and interacting with legal, insurance, and employer stakeholders is an asset.
- High level of professional integrity, commitment to unbiased evaluations, and attention to detail in documentation.
- Prior experience with independent medical evaluations (IMEs) or medico-legal assessments is considered beneficial.
