The Part Time EarlyON Teen Mothers Educator is responsible for the implementation of the EarlyON and Teen Mothers’ Program.

We offer a range of housing options, employment and training programs, community support programs, girls’ programs and family programs. We also engage in systemic advocacy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Establishes and implements age-appropriate routines for the children in accordance with the philosophy of the EarlyON program




- Works with the children and their parents in a group while maintaining sensitivity to each child’s individual needs
- Takes responsibility for maintaining an orderly and tidy playroom, clean equipment, and tidy cupboards
- Ensures that the Centre is set up appropriately for child/caregiver activities.
- Orders required supplies and equipment
- Supervises volunteers and placement students
- Ensures that the Health and Safety Guidelines are followed in accordance with the policies and procedure of YWCA Toronto
- Other duties as required

QUALIFICATION

- An Early Childhood Education Diploma or Social Service Worker or a recognized equivalent plus 1-3 years’ experience with children ages 0 to 6 is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- First Aid Certificate
- Knowledge of early childhood development, theory and practice
- Skills and flexibility to work with mixed age groupings from 0 to 6
- Experience working within a multicultural workplace
- Second language is an asset
