Northern Lights College seeks a proactive Health and Safety Advisor for a 6-month term. This role focuses on compliance, inspections, and consultations in occupational health and safety.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Human Resources and Payroll, you will oversee health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with WorksafeBC regulations. Your five years of experience and knowledge of safety legislation will be key as you conduct inspections and engage with the Joint OH&S; Committees, providing critical advice to employees on safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:



• Develop and manage workplace health and safety programs • Conduct monthly campus safety inspections and audits • Liaise with WorksafeBC officers during inspections • Provide safety consultations and training to staff • Manage a budget of approximately $200,000.00

Requirements: • Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field • Five years of relevant experience in health and safety • Valid WHMIS instructor certification • Solid knowledge of safety regulations and legislation • Current driver’s license for travel
