PUNCH PRESS SET UP/ OPERATOR OF PUNCH PRESSES IN METAL PARTS MANUFACTURING, GENERAL HELP

Using understanding of Punch Press operation and setup, and working within the Company’s Quality Guidelines, the incumbent will ensure parts are produced in a safe, efficient and high-quality manner.

Qualifications : 5 YRS EXPERIENCE IN SET UP OF PUNCH PRESSES AND OPERATION

Knowledge of the equipment being used, including the safety features in place.

· Full understanding and hands on SET UP + PUNCH PRESS OPERATION of the punch presses , have an understanding of punch press and tooling processes. 5 yrs. experience in setup of punch presses IS MUST,

· If authorized, protected use of the electric or motorized material handling equipment.

· Understanding of:

· general procedures for running a job AND SET UP OF PUNCH PRESS· the non-conformance procedures.

· the use of inspection instruments and fixtures as required.

· Ability to understand instructions on P-Charts in combination with instructions from Quality Control and Engineering staff.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure that preparation for running the product is complete;

· Drawings and other required documents have been reviewed and the order of operations is understood

· All required materials and tooling for the full job, if multiple setups, is available

Ensure that all parts produced are in accordance with Quality Standards;

· Inform QC or Supervisor immediately if inspection shows parts are non-conforming and ensure that a non-conformance record is opened.

· Work with QC and Engineering to determine root cause and corrective action for problems as quickly as possible

3. Ensure that all materials are tagged and records are completed in accordance with the Quality Management System;

· Record on the time sheet and P-Chart the following information from the material tag-

· recording correct part number and shop number from the P-Char

4. Contribute to the efficient, effective and safe operation of the Production area;

· Inform Supervisor when a job is completed.

· Clean the press area of extra packing materials or unused baskets.

·Sundry duties as assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
