Unit Electric Ltd is a busy manufacturing facility located in Okanagan Falls, BC. We design and manufacture standard and custom electrical power, distribution and control equipment for mining, renewable energy, oil & gas, commercial, industrial and transportation.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Specialist to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing supplies and services, managing inventory, monitoring delivery schedules, and resolving any issues related to orders. Responsibilities: · Establish and maintain good relationships with suppliers to negotiate contracts, terms and prices

- The management of the Company’s inventory supply levels
- Manage vendor database
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand purchasing needs and requirements
- Maintain records of preferred carriers, contacts and freight rate information
- Ensure import/export documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements

- Maintain supplier price lists in the ERP system
- Assist the Logistics department and Senior Procurement Specialist as needed
- Process, track and manage orders ensuring timely delivery and handling discrepancies or problems throughout the order process





- Record maintenance of purchase orders, supplier contracts, delivery schedules and payment schedules.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Purchasing Specialist or in a similar role
- Strong negotiation skills to be able to negotiate pricing, terms and conditions

- Attention to detail is crucial to ensure the accuracy of information
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a cool, calm manner
- Ability to identify and address issues such as shipment delays, order discrepancies or supplier problems

- The skills necessary to communicate and collaborate with multiple departments.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written to ensure the smooth operation of the department

- Experience with ERP Software (Epicor) an asset
- Working in a manufacturing setting would be an asset
- Proficient in the use of databases, Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook email and calendar

- Knowledge of regulated products, and hazardous materials handling and documentation

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
