Scope of Position To support the Quality Management function by performing inspections, testing, audits, equipment verification, and non-conformance activities. The Quality Technician works closely with Quality Engineering, Production, and Maintenance to ensure products and processes meet company, customer, and applicable quality standards and requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

· Works under the direction of the Quality Engineering / Quality Specialist.

· Effectively quarantines, compiles, categorizes, and reports nonconformities in a timely manner for further analysis and disposition.

· Conducts internal equipment and device verification to ensure equipment and devices meet applicable regulations, specifications, and requirements.

· Conducts WIP product audits to ensure products meet established requirements and company/customer expectations.

· Performs quality inspections and testing as required throughout the production process.

· Investigates and assists in correcting Surface Mount Technology (SMT) quality issues.

· Supports the MRB / NCMR process by identifying, documenting, and following up on non-conforming materials and products.

· Maintains IPC-A-610 certification and supports the training of production personnel on applicable standard requirements.

· Follows and promotes Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safe-handling practices.

· Ensures quality documentation and records are completed accurately and maintained as required.

· Completes all documentation and records related to inspection, testing, equipment verification, and assigned quality activities.

· Interacts with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to exchange technical information and facilitate teamwork in troubleshooting and repair activities.

· Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment as required.

· Checks equipment and machinery to ensure safety features are in good working order and reports any concerns immediately.

· Maintains work area and physical plant in a neat, clean, and orderly condition.

· Upholds 5S standards and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.





· Understands the relevance and importance of their activities and how they affect product quality, customer requirements, and the environment.

· Exhibits a courteous and skilled demeanor.

· Works safely, avoiding lost-time injuries, and follows established safe work practices and procedures.

· Responsible for protecting their own health and safety by working in compliance with established health and safety practices and procedures.

· Follows company guidelines, policies, and procedures, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook.

· Participates in company-sponsored training relating to safety, quality, and other required education and training.

· Contributes to department and company improvement projects as required.

· Complies with Eberspaecher Vecture Inc.’s health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts, and quality assurance policies and standards. Reports any issues that are not in compliance to the supervisor or department manager.

· Conducts and promotes work in a safe and responsible manner and reports any safety concerns immediately to the supervisor, department manager, or a member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC). Wears appropriate PPE and operates equipment in a safe manner in accordance with established standards and procedures.

· Performs other work as assigned by the Quality Engineering / Quality Specialist or as required by the business.

· Knowledge of SMT, PTH, soldering, inspection, testing, rework, and repair processes.

Qualifications & Experience

· Minimum 1 year of experience in quality-related activities, including inspection, testing, calibration, or similar functions.

· Hands-on experience with SMT, PTH, soldering, inspection, and testing is considered an asset.

· Experience with hand soldering, rework, and repair in accordance with IPC-7711 / IPC-7721 is considered an asset.

· Experience with MRB / NCMR processes is considered an asset.

· Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, RoHS, REACH, ESD, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 is considered an asset.

· Experience working in a manufacturing or electronics manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

Education

· Diploma or certificate in Quality Assurance, Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.

· Post-secondary education in a related technical discipline is considered an asset.

· IPC-A-610 certification is considered an asset.

· Training or certification in J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or ESD is considered an asset.

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:
- quality-related : 1 year (required)
- SMT, PTH, soldering, inspection and testing: 1 year (preferred)
