Peel Police has exciting opportunities to join our service as a Recruit Constable or Cadet!

Recruit Constable:

Recruit Constable is the entry-level uniform position for all applicants seeking a Police Constable position with Peel Regional Police. Peel Regional Police will consider applications from experienced officers who have policing experience with another Canadian Police Service.

What will your typical day look like?

- Preserve the peace;
- Prevent crimes, other offences and providing assistance and encouragement to other persons in their prevention;
- Assist victims of crime;
- Apprehend criminals, other offenders and others who may lawfully be taken into custody;
- Lay charges and participate in prosecutions;
- Execute warrants and perform related duties;
- Perform the lawful duties that the Chief of Police assigns;
- Enforce municipal by-laws;
- Respond to calls for service;
- Successfully complete prescribed training;
- Commitment to Community-Based Policing principles and practices;
- Display cultural competence when interacting with members of the community;
- Perform 12-hour shifts (days and nights) including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications for Recruit Constable:

- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and legally entitled to work in Canada.
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.
- In good health and able to meet the physical, mental and medical requirements of the Peel Regional Police Service.
- Good moral character and habits.
- Successfully completed at least four years of secondary school education or its equivalent.
- Meet vision and hearing requirements as outlined by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP).
- Possess a valid Ontario driver`s licence with full privileges and no more than six accumulated demerit points.
- Pass a detailed background check that includes security clearance, credit and reference checks.
- If convicted of a criminal offence under a federal statute, you must obtain a pardon. If you have `Findings of Guilt`, which have resulted in absolute or conditional discharges, the records must be `sealed` by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
- The following must be obtained prior to employment, but is not a requirement at the time of application:
- A valid OACP Certificate
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certificate

You will be required to successfully complete the following tests:





Fitness Test - PREP Pursuit Restraint Circuit completed in 2:37 or less and shuttle run must be completed to level 7.0

Cadet:

Cadet 2nd Class is the entry-level uniform position for applicants seeking a Cadet position with the Peel Regional Police. The Cadet Program is an apprenticeship-style program for candidates to gain insight and experience in policing through a series of rotational assignments over a 30-month period. Successful Cadets maybe considered for promotion to the position of Recruit Constable.

What will your typical day look like?

- Assist civilian and police personnel with completing a variety of tasks;
- Interact with members of the community in a professional and courteous manner;
- Display cultural competence;
- Successfully complete prescribed training and assessments;
- Participate in community events as a representative of Peel Regional Police;
- Perform a variety of work shifts that may include days, afternoons, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications for Cadet:

- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident and legally entitled to work in Canada.
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.
- In positive health and able to meet the physical, mental and medical requirements of the Peel Regional Police Service.
- Good moral character and habits.
- No criminal conviction(s) for which a pardon has not been granted.
- Successfully completed at least four years of secondary school education or its equivalent.
- Meet vision and hearing requirements as outlined by Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP).Possess a valid Ontario driver’s licence with minimum G2 privileges and no more than six accumulated demerit points.
- Possess a valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certificate prior to employment.
- Pass a detailed background check that includes security clearance, credit and reference checks.
- If convicted of a criminal offence under a federal statute, you must obtain a pardon. If you have `Findings of Guilt`, which have resulted in absolute or conditional discharges, the records must be `sealed` by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

You will be required to successfully complete the following tests:

- Cadet, Second Class - $57,262
- Cadet, First Class - $62,989
- Recruit Constable - $68,716
- Constable, Fourth Class - $83,221




- Constable, Third Class - $91,620
- Constable, Second Class - $103,071
- Constable, First Class - $123,492
