East West is seeking a Sr Buyer in St-Hubert, Quebec to lead the sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities required to support electronic build manufacturing, general operations, and maintenance operations. This role balances cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and risk to ensure supply continuity and operational excellence.

The Senior Buyer partners closely with internal stakeholders, engineering, planning, quality, operations, and suppliers to resolve supply issues, support production requirements, manage supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement throughout the purchasing function.

Responsibilities

- Source, evaluate, and purchase materials, components, equipment, and services to support manufacturing operations
- Build and manage supplier relationships focused on competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and quality performance
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms to drive cost savings and meet business goals
- Manage purchase orders, expedite critical materials, and resolve shortages to keep production on track
- Analyze demand, inventory, and supplier data to support cost containment, inventory reduction, and supply assurance
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Operations teams on ECNs, DMRs, and material disposition
- Maintain accurate purchasing records in compliance with company policies and ISO requirements
- Leverage ERP, EDI, and purchasing systems to process transactions and improve efficiency
- Support continuous improvement efforts across purchasing and the broader supply chain

Knowledge, Ability & Skills

- 5–7+ years of progressive purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience — manufacturing environment required, electronics
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, Engineering, or related field preferred




- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and EDI platforms
- Background in supplier management, cost reduction, inventory control, and material planning
- Familiarity with ECN, DMR, non-conforming material, and ISO purchasing requirements
- APICS, CPSM, CPM, or similar certification is a plus
- Robust negotiator with a practical, results-driven approach to supplier management
- Sharp analytical thinker who makes sound decisions — even under pressure
- Clear communicator who can align cross-functional teams and hold suppliers accountable
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency across standard business software
