The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and experienced Registered Dietitian (RD) to join two interdisciplinary clinics, collaborating with a number of different clinicians to assess, make appropriate recommendations and implement treatment plans.

Neurodevelopmental Restrictive Eating clinic (0.4FTE)



- supports the needs of children with neurodevelopmental disorders that also present with ARFID and/or severe restricted food intake.

Feeding and Swallowing clinic (0.2FTE) - assess and manage children and youth with feeding and swallowing safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities

- Conducts nutritional assessments for clients in the programs.
- Implements and evaluates nutritional care plan of referred clients with the overall goal of maintaining and promoting optimal nutritional status
- Provides nutritional counseling to clients and caregivers
- Work collaboratively on an interdisciplinary team to complete assessments and consultations.
- Responsive to the changing needs of clients and families and demonstrate flexibility to adapt treatment goals and approach as necessary in collaboration with other clinical team members
- Contribute to the implementation of the program
- Laises with community care providers to support nutrition care goals and provides education to build capacity with community providers as needed.
- Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to develop educational information for clients, parents, and other service providers about nutritional care or topics as appropriate
- Keep up to date with current dietetic science and practice




- Electronic documentation of all clinical assessments, interventions and related care occurrences. Order entry for enteral feed clients
- Comply with workload measurement statistic entry
- Contributes to innovative approaches for care to clients with neurodevelopmental disorders
- Contributes to the design, implementation and evaluation of continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervises Dietetic students and volunteers, as required
- Research experience an asset.

Qualifications

- Current registration and membership of the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Current registration with Dietitians of Canada an asset
- Pediatric experience and experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience within multidisciplinary feeding and swallowing program strongly preferred
- Paediatric experience with physical, developmental, and neurodevelopmental disabilities strongly preferred
- Ability to set priorities and manage a busy workload while meeting required deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment as well as independently.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to use computer software such as MS Office applications, email and web applications
- Demonstrated commitment to maintain and upgrade skills and knowledge through career development and evidence-based practice.
- Competence of ESHA food analysis program an asset
