Lead and support a team of Property Adjusters, setting explicit expectations and providing day‑to‑day guidance

Assign and oversee claims to ensure timely, fair, and high‑quality outcomes for members

Mentor adjusters through coaching, audits, and one‑on‑one development conversations

Handle escalations and sensitive files with professionalism and sound judgment

Ensure claims practices meet legislative, regulatory, and financial requirements

Approve reserves, settlements, denials, and use of experts where appropriate

Prepare, execute, and continuously improve AMA’s annual catastrophe response plan

Collaborate closely with Claims Management, fellow supervisors, vendors, and internal partners

Monitor performance metrics and vendor effectiveness, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of progressive claims handling experience, including at least 2 years in Property Claims

Post‑secondary education

Insurance designation completed or in progress; CIP, FCIP, and CRM preferred

Strong knowledge of property policy wordings, building construction, and claims legislation

Experience with estimating tools such as Xactimate preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance operating systems

Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide teams through busy, high‑pressure situations

Ability to motivate, coach, and support a diverse team
