Background: Founded in 1901, Ontario Soccer is currently comprised of more than 500 Clubs servicing over 24,000 teams with 380,000 registered players, 70,000 coaches and managers, and 8,100 match officials, as well as countless volunteers, parents and supporters encompassing a direct, multi-cultural community of over 1,000,000 Ontarians.
Ontario Soccer develops and delivers exceptional and sustainable programs and services throughout Ontario with the mission of providing leadership and support for the advancement of soccer in collaboration and cooperation with our member District Associations and Clubs, partners and other stakeholders. Ontario Soccer owns and operates the Zanchin Automotive Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ontario, as well operating the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL); the province’s premier standards-based youth development program, as well as “Team Ontario”, Ontario Soccer’s Provincial Xcel program. Ontario Soccer proudly supports Canada Soccer’s National Teams, the Canadian Premier League, Toronto FC and the Northern Super League.
The overall objective of Ontario Soccer, as a hub for Coach, Match Official and Player Development, is to be innovators and leaders in sport and to assist with the equitable development of soccer as a healthy lifestyle choice, provide a talented pathway for participants to excel and encourage inclusive community involvement at all levels.
Position Summary: The Manager, Video Content and Production, leads the planning, production, and delivery of video content that supports Ontario Soccer’s organizational priorities. Reporting to the Director, PR & Communications, this position is responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders to capture and produce compelling content for educational purposes, training materials, special projects (e.g., season highlights and Year in Review) and Ontario Soccer’s social media channels. The role also supports content planning, production schedules, and vendor/freelancer coordination, as needed, to deliver high-quality video content on time and on brand.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to following Ontario Soccer Policies and Operational Procedures, primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead videography planning and execution for Ontario Soccer initiatives, programs, and marquee events, ensuring content aligns with communications priorities and brand standards.
Manage Ontario Soccer’s photo and video asset library (ingest, tagging/metadata, storage, access, and archiving) to ensure content is searchable, secure, and readily available for internal use.
Own end-to-end video production workflows (pre-production, on-site capture, postproduction editing, audio, colour, and delivery) for Ontario Soccer’s digital channels and internal stakeholders.
In coordination with external vendors and/or producers plan and deliver livestreamed events, including run-of-show development, equipment needs, encoding/stream configuration, graphics integration, and post-event publishing on Ontario Soccer’s YouTube and MySoccer App, and social media channels.
Manage the Ontario Soccer video content calendar and production schedule in collaboration with the PR & Communications team to ensure consistent, timely publishing.
Liaise regularly with the Manager, Marketing & Graphic Design to ensure strategic and tactical alignment between Marketing and Communications portfolios.
Collaborate with internal teams and program leads to translate communications goals into video concepts, storyboards, shot lists, and final deliverables.
Produce special event and campaign videos (e.g., season highlights, tournament recaps, and Year in Review) and ensure deliverables are optimized per platform specifications.
Publish, package, and maintain video content across Ontario Soccer’s channels, ensuring titles, descriptions, thumbnails, captions, and metadata follow brand and accessibility standards.
Support channel growth by applying platform best practices (YouTube, in-app video, and social video), including content optimization and performance learnings.
Ensure consistent visual standards, file naming conventions, and rights/usage tracking for photo/video content in alignment with organizational policies.
Coordinate and oversee freelancers and vendors (videographers, photographers, editors) on a per-project basis, including briefs, shot requirements, timelines, and deliverable reviews. Rate card for freelancers is to be established with and annually approved by the Director, PR & Communications in alignment with approved Ontario Soccer operating budget.
Maintain and manage videography and livestreaming equipment, including inventory, maintenance schedules, and recommendations for upgrades or rentals as required.
Stay current on emerging production and livestreaming trends, workflows, and tools, and recommend improvements that increase quality and efficiency.
Work closely with PR & Communications and Marketing, Partnerships & Events colleagues to support integrated campaigns, event coverage, and stakeholder storytelling with strong visual narratives.
Track and report basic video and livestream performance metrics (e.g., views, watch time, engagement) and provide recommendations to improve future content.
Support work planning for assigned video resources (staff and/or contractors) to ensure efficient coverage of events and timely completion of deliverables.
Develop production briefs and standards for event videography and livestream coverage, including shot priorities, interview needs, and turnaround timelines.
Oversee event livestreaming operations for marquee Ontario Soccer events (e.g. Ontario Cup, OPDL Gary Miller Charity Shield), including on-site execution.
Capture and edit interviews and stakeholder features as required to support Ontario Soccer storytelling and event coverage.
Maintain accurate records of video projects and deliverables, including project files, release forms/permissions as required, and final exports for future use.
Contribute to creative concepting and scripting where needed, working with PR & Communications to ensure accuracy,
tone, and brand alignment.
Coordinate with PR & Communications and Marketing, Partnership & Events colleagues to ensure video assets are delivered in formats required for web, social, presentations, and partner needs.
Support video capture and production for Ontario Soccer conferences and events (e.g., The Soccer Summit) as assigned.
Ensure backup plans and risk mitigation practices are in place for critical productions and assets (redundancy, connectivity, recording, and post-event archiving).
Flexible schedule including weekend and off business hours are expected to support event coverage and livestream operations.

Photography/Videography experience
Passion for Ontario Soccer and/or the sport community in Ontario is considered an asset.
Qualifications: Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a lead role managing external communications.
Strong knowledge and experience with digital and social media including Web, Instagram, You Tube, Google Analytics, X, Facebook, and other current tools to measure and report on communications’ impact.
Education and Professional Designations:
Post-secondary degree and/or an equivalent combination of related education and experience in Communications or related field
Salary Range: This is a full-time position with a salary range of $65,000 - $90,000.
