Schedule may change with two weeks’ notice.Probationary/qualifying period will be 488 hours with mid and end point reviews.$28.56 - 30.45depending upon applicants' length of seniority (as per the Collective Agreement)Job SummaryThe Building Attendant (BA) reports to the Site Manager and works in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Lookout Housing and Health Society, including following Lookout’s Code of Ethics. Building Attendants perform a variety of administrative, maintenance, and security functions within the residence managed by Lookout. This position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing, as Lookout is COR (Certificate of Recognition) certified and must comply with WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements. To ensure a proper respirator seal during fit testing and use, employees are required to be clean‑shaven where the respirator seals against the face.Job DutiesAdministrative tasks related to property management such as: rent collection, security deposits, petty cashMaintenance work and repair duties such as repairing furniture,
installing switches, replacing plugs, and other basic appliance repairsPrepares estimates of maintenance and repair costs for managementPerforms a variety of cleaning duties, garbage removal, and monitors disposal servicesMonitors condition and cleanliness of client rooms, and ensures a safe and secure environmentWill assist recent staff, oversee volunteers, and work with all staff to ensure facilities meet the needs of guestsMaintains manual and computerized reports and records on an ongoing basisJob duties may have a few disagreeable factorsEmployees are expected to remain alert and attentive during working hours.
