Operational Support Administrative Assistant (OA13) Kingstec Campus Kentville, Nova Scotia Institute of Skilled Trades Term Full-time Position: Commencing approximately September 21, 2026, and ending approximately March 12, 2027

Salary range: $49,045.35 to $54,546.66 annually

Qualifications Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

The minimal educational qualifications for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in Business or Administrative Qualified/Office Administration. High school completion with significant years (10+) of administrative experience will also be considered.

You have a minimum of three years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in a rapid-paced office environment.

You have accounting experience.

You have occupational experience that includes using Excel to collect and analyze data.

You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, e-mail and SharePoint. Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Learning Management Systems such as Brightspace would be considered an asset.

You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology, and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.

Occupational experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students in a post-secondary educational environment would be considered an asset.

Experience supporting/coordinating the work functions of a large and complex department would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities As part of the Kingstec Campus,



the Administrative Assistant will report to the Academic Chair - Institute of Skilled Trades and will provide confidential, day-to-day administrative and organizational support to the Academic Chair.

The Administrative Assistant will provide a full range of administrative support services. Your responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day administrative and supportive functions, activities, and programs of the departments. This entails logistical planning for meetings, program scheduling, calendar management, record keeping, file management, project management support, managing and organizing data, fielding queries to the Institute of Skilled Trades in relation to programs, greeting students/industry/general public and booking appointments with the Academic Chair. You will also provide administrative support to departmental staff, coordinate special events, coordinate budget workflow, liaise with internal and external communities, facilitate course feedback with learners, as well as other related administrative duties as required.
