Repair & Maintenance Technician – Saint John / Moncton Region

Location: Based in Saint John, NB, with regular travel to Moncton (1–2 days/week)

Vehicle: Personal vehicle required; mileage/gas covered

Reports to: Property Management / Operations (FBPM)

Role Summary

FBPM is hiring a hands-on Repair & Maintenance Technician to handle day-to-day upkeep, repairs, and unit turnovers across our residential portfolio in Saint John, with scheduled coverage in Moncton. This is a generalist role — you'll be the first line of response for tenant maintenance requests, preventive upkeep, and unit-readiness work.

Core Responsibilities

Plumbing

- Fix leaks (faucets, toilets, supply lines), clear drains/toilets, replace wax rings
- Replace/repair toilets, faucets, shower valves, shut-off valves
- Basic water heater troubleshooting (electric/gas), minor hot water tank swaps
- Sump pump checks, frozen pipe response in winter

Electrical (minor/non-licensed scope)

- Replace light fixtures, switches, outlets, breakers (like-for-like)
- Troubleshoot tripped breakers/GFCIs, smoke/CO detector battery and unit replacement
- Coordinate with licensed electrician for panel work or anything requiring permit

HVAC

- Filter changes, thermostat swaps, baseboard heater repair/replacement
- Basic mini-split troubleshooting (filters, error codes, coordinating service calls)




- Seasonal system checks (spring/fall)

Appliances

- Diagnose and repair/replace fridges, stoves, dishwashers, washers/dryers (in-suite and common laundry)
- Basic ice maker, garburator, range hood repairs

Doors, Windows & Locks

- Rekey/replace locks and deadbolts, adjust door closers, fix hinges
- Weatherstripping, window seal issues, screen repair, patio door tracks
- Fire door hardware checks (closers, seals)

Drywall, Paint & Flooring (turnover work)

- Patch and paint between-tenant turns
- Repair/replace vinyl plank, laminate, and carpet sections
- Caulking, trim repair, minor carpentry

Requirements
- 2+ years hands-on maintenance, trades, or property management experience
- Own reliable vehicle and valid driver's license (mileage/gas reimbursed)
- Own basic hand tools (larger tools/equipment supplied)
- Comfortable working independently, prioritizing multiple work orders
- Willingness to travel to Moncton 1–2 days/week as scheduled
- Available for occasional on-call/emergency response

Nice to Have
- Red Seal or apprenticeship in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry)
- Experience with multi-unit residential buildings
- Comfort with basic work-order software (mobile app based)

Pay: $24.00-$36.00 per hour
