Active Leaders of Love (ALL) is a social advocacy nonprofit in Ontario that works with people, leaders, and organizations to strengthen communities. Through the ALL Project, we explore local needs, identify gaps in access to information, services, opportunities, and support, and work with community partners to address them through research, engagement, training, and advocacy.
About the role
We are seeking Research & Strategy Leads (Volunteer) to support research activities across the organization. Working under the direction of the Director, Community Research, Leads will conduct research, analyze information, and develop evidence-based findings that contribute to ALL’s projects, initiatives, and strategic work. This role is suited to someone who enjoys investigating complex issues, connecting information from different sources, and turning research into clear, useful findings.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct primary and secondary research on community and socio-economic issues relevant to ALL’s work.
- Gather, review, and analyze information from academic, government, community, and other credible sources.
- Identify key findings, trends, gaps, and emerging issues within assigned research areas.
- Support surveys, interviews, literature reviews, environmental scans, and other research activities as assigned.
- Prepare research summaries, briefs, reports, presentations, and other research materials.
- Document research findings clearly and accurately for use by the Director and other organizational teams.
- Collaborate with other research team members to share findings and strengthen organizational research.
- Support the Director, Research & Strategy with assigned research and analysis activities.
- Apply appropriate research methods and maintain strong standards for accuracy, evidence, and documentation.
You’re a great fit if you
- Have experience or education in research, social sciences, public policy, data analysis, program evaluation, community development, or a related field.
- Are comfortable gathering and synthesizing information from multiple sources.
- Have solid analytical, writing, and critical-thinking skills.
- Can communicate research findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Are detail-oriented and committed to producing accurate, well-supported research.
- Enjoy collaborating with others while managing assigned research independently.
- Are interested in issues affecting communities in Ontario and beyond.
Commitment
Volunteer position with flexible hours
Approximately 5–10 hours per week
