Be the voice of government in Prince Edward Island as a Provincial Affairs Reporter with CBC/Radio-Canada. This temporary long-term position requires in office presence to cover essential political stories.
As a vital member of CBC Prince Edward Island's newsroom, you will bring in-depth knowledge of the P.E.I. Legislature and political processes to your reporting. You must possess superior editorial judgment and the initiative to produce impactful stories across multiple media platforms. Candidates should have live reporting experience and a deep understanding of local issues affecting Islanders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a network of provincial contacts
• Report daily on political issues across all media platforms
• Gather and research information on governmental events
• Produce engaging stories for underrepresented communities
• Conduct interviews and check facts for accuracy
Requirements:
• University degree or equivalent
• Five years of multi-platform news experience
• Knowledge of P.E.I. politics and legislative procedures
• Live reporting and visual storytelling experience
• Strong self-starter with critical thinking skills
Deliver essential political insights and narratives that matter to the people of P.E.I with CBC.
