Respite Worker - Community Respite Service Inc.

We support children, youth and adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities in Brandon and Westman.

Community Respite Service Inc. is seeking supportive, empathetic, motivated, and reliable Respite Workers to join our team!

Excellent for post-secondary students (Nursing, Teaching, Social Work) or as secondary employment.

Ideal for Early Childhood Educators, existing Direct Support Professionals (residential & day program) Health Care Aides, Educational Assistants and those re-entering the work force.

The following hours are available:

The shifts are primarily community based (vehicle required), some in home with family directed care.

Hours Sample:

Weekdays: 7:30am-8:45am, 3:30pm-5:00pm, 5:45pm-7:45pm, 6:00pm-8:00pm, tbd.

Saturday: 11:00am-1:00pm, 1:00pm-4:00pm, 6:30pm-10:30pm, tbd.

Other: language specific assignments - Mandarin, Spanish.

Hours are based on Participant/Caregiver need: companionship, assist caregivers maintain their employment (before/after school care),



assist with daily personal activities (feeding, dressing, toileting), etc.

Key Abilities: Communication, organization, work independently, maintain confidentiality, make decisions and demonstrate an ability to work with Participants in our program.

Applicants must possess:

- Grade 12 education
- Proficient English Skills (oral and written)
- Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable sector), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check. (Completed within the last 3 months*)*

The cost of the required checks will be reimbursed after the completion of 500 hours with CRS.

- Post-secondary education or previous experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle (Required)

Wage: $17.25 - $19.25 (based on experience) Interviews will be conducted at mutually convenient times.
