Lancor Concrete Contractors Ltd. Is a formwork contractor who specializes in commercial and industrial projects all throughout Atlantic Canada. We are currently looking for a concrete pump operator to join our team. The role requires a robust understanding of concrete pump equipment operation, excellent coordination with site personnel, and adherence to strict safety procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operations. The Concrete Pump Operator will contribute to the successful completion of various construction projects, from foundations to high-rise buildings.
Key Responsibilities
Operate pump truck in a safe, conscientious and lawful manner while complying with all company policies and procedures
Perform inspections and maintenance on concrete pump equipment
Work closely with crews and supervisors to ensure smooth and safe operation during pours
Assess and determine safe setup locations, evaluate potential site hazards and take necessary actions to mitigate these risks before commencing operations
Monitor and adjust concrete flow throughout the pumping process to prevent blockages and ensure proper placement of material in alignment with project specifications
Follow CSA standards and local regulations as to the safe operating and maintenance of concrete pump trucks
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues promptly
Clean the pump thoroughly to prevent concrete build-up, perform basic maintenance, and ensure equipment readiness
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, fuel levels, and any maintenance performed.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years' experience operating concrete pump trucks
Valid commercial license, minimum requirement of class 3 endorsement and a proven safe driving record
Valid concrete pump operator certification would be considered an asset
Experience operating concrete pump truck on busy construction sites
Robust technical knowledge of concrete pump truck operation
Valuable physical health and stamina - able to list up to 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
Must be able to read and understand equipment manuals and safety manuals
Maintain excellent customer relations. Represent the Company through efficient work and courteous service
High level of attention to detail, particularly with equipment checks, and safety procedures.
Must be able to work long hours as required
Work in different weather situations and site conditions
Willing and able to travel between job sites as required
