We’re seeking a sales-driven, energetic, and customer-focused Cashier who thrives on engaging with customers, driving sales, and ensuring smooth store operations.

Position Summary The Retail Operations Associate at Oppa Convenience is a frontline sales ambassador, responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, maximizing sales through upselling and cross-selling, and maintaining solid merchandising and food service standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and motivated by results.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Engagement

Provide friendly, professional service to every customer.

Drive store sales through upselling, cross-selling, and increasing basket size.

Promote and educate customers on Korean-inspired products and hot meal options.

Meet or exceed daily and weekly sales targets and KPIs.

Communicate ongoing promotions and new product offerings.

Ensure legal compliance when selling tobacco, alcohol, and lottery products, verifying ID where required.

Merchandising & Store Presentation

Restock and rotate products following FIFO (First In, First Out) standards.

Maintain organized, clean, and visually appealing displays for both traditional and Korean-inspired products.

Ensure pricing accuracy and highlight promotional or high-margin items.





Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs to management.

Food Service & Housekeeping

Assist and educate customers on the use of equipment such as microwaves, hot water tanks, and kettles for preparing Hankang Ramen and other hot deli items. Keep the ramen dump basket clean and emptied at all times.

Follow all food handling and safety protocols.

Keep checkout, eating area(s), and customer areas clean and organized.

Complete daily cleaning and sanitizing tasks according to Oppa SOPs.

Cash Handling & Compliance

Operate the POS system accurately for all transactions.

Process sales, lottery, refunds where necessary, and online payments in line with company policies.

Maintain accurate cash drawer balance at the end of each shift.

Comply with all regulations related to controlled products and food safety.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in retail, grocery store, or food service sales (preferred).

Proven ability to drive sales and meet performance goals.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.

Must be legally eligible to sell tobacco, alcohol, and lottery products.

Valid Food Handler Certificate required (or willingness to obtain).

Smart Serve Certificate preferred (depending on province).

Familiarity with Uber Eats and SkipTheDishes platforms is an asset.

Interest in Korean-inspired food and culture is an advantage.

Compliance with all health & safety, and product regulations.

High standards of store presentation and customer satisfaction.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
