Maplee Canada is opening a current retail destination in Toronto’s Distillery District this fall.

Built around supporting and showcasing Canadian small businesses, Maplee brings a curated collection of products from independent brands together under one roof. Our store will feature a rotating selection of locally made and Canadian-designed products across categories such as fashion, accessories, beauty, wellness, home, gifts, food and lifestyle.

We are looking for two friendly, dependable and customer-focused Part-Time Retail Sales Associates to join our store team.

About the Role

As a Retail Sales Associate at Maplee, you will be one of the main points of contact for customers visiting the store. You will be responsible for providing a welcoming shopping experience, processing purchases accurately and helping maintain an organized, well-presented retail environment.

Because Maplee represents products from a variety of independent businesses, we are looking for someone who is curious, attentive and comfortable learning about different products and brands.

- Communicate inventory, customer or operational issues to store management
- Support other day-to-day store operations as needed

The ideal candidate is

- Friendly, outgoing and comfortable speaking with customers
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Professional and well presented
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team
- Detail-oriented when handling payments and transactions
- Able to learn about a large variety of brands and products
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
- Proactive and willing to help wherever needed
- Able to remain organized during busy periods
- Interested in Canadian small businesses, retail, events or locally made products
- Available to work regularly throughout the week, including weekends

Qualifications

- Previous retail, cashier, hospitality or customer service experience is preferred
- Previous experience using a POS or cash register system is an asset
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle cash and electronic transactions accurately
- Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be able to reliably commute to the Distillery District in Toronto

Availability Requirements We are looking for candidates with broad and flexible availability throughout the week, rather than applicants who are only available for occasional shifts.

Applicants should be available to work on most days of the week, including a combination of:

- Weekday shifts
- Saturdays
- Sundays
- Holiday and peak-season shifts

Weekend availability is required. There will be many hours available throughout the week, and preference will be given to candidates who can provide consistent and flexible availability across multiple weekdays in addition to weekends.

The Distillery District becomes particularly busy during the holiday season, so reliable availability during this period is especially significant.

Employment Type: Part-Time
