From answering enquiries and supporting applications, to processing payments, identity verification, and licence purchases, the team delivers practical support, strong client service, and a professional approach with confidence and ease, keeping essential work on track. The Role: The Natural Resource Specialist (NRS) is the trusted front-line guide for clients moving through natural resource applications, bringing solid knowledge of legislation, policy, and process to every file. This role reviews complex submissions, spots risks and competing interests early, and pulls together thorough report packages that help move sound decisions forward. This particular NRS position also carries a leadership edge, supporting staff, coordinating priority projects, and helping deliver service that is productive, informed, and genuinely client-focused. Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in a Natural Resource Management related field and a minimum of two (2)
years of related experience in a resource management related field; or Technical Diploma in a related field and four (4) years of related experience; or An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience supervising and/or providing functional supervision to staff. Experience interpreting and applying natural resource related policy and/or legislation. Customer service experience, which includes listening, advising and supporting individuals and organizations to access and navigate natural resource permitting and authorizations services. [email protected]. About this Position: There is currently one (1) permanent, full time position available in Nanaimo. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement. Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment. An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent vacancies in Nanaimo. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
