About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented RF Hardware Design Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will apply your expertise in RF and electronic hardware design to develop innovative, high-performance products from concept through production. You will research emerging technologies, design and simulate RF circuits, develop and test prototypes, create engineering documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions that meet performance, regulatory, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and development to stay current with industry trends and drive product innovation
- Design, simulate, develop, and modify electronic hardware, systems, and PCB assemblies, both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Translate product requirements and marketing objectives into reliable, cost-effective engineering solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, marketing, manufacturing, and quality teams to define specifications, assembly processes,
and test plans
- Select components and develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) that meet performance, cost, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Review PCB layouts for functionality, manufacturability, safety, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance
- Support production and purchasing teams with component selection, sourcing, and procurement
- Design, assemble, test, and optimize functional prototypes
- Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues in collaboration with manufacturing, quality, mechanical, software, and firmware teams
- Coordinate with external laboratories to complete regulatory and compliance testing
- Partner with software and firmware engineers to ensure seamless hardware integration
- Provide engineering support for production and resolve design and manufacturing issues throughout the product lifecycle
Requirements:
- B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Thorough understanding of the product design cycle, including experience in product conceptualization, design, development, and mass production
- Experience in PCB design for RF and microwave applications, including both Rx and Tx chains, utilizing CAD-based design tools like Altium and KiCAD
- Familiarity with analog and digital system design,
including high-frequency simulation and signal processing, using industry-standard tools such as Keysight ADS and MATLAB
- Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with board-level diagnostics and repairs
- Proficiency with the use of common lab test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and signal generators
- In-depth understanding of core RF components such as transmission lines, amplifiers, mixers, attenuators, and filters
- Ability to prepare detailed and accurate technical reports
- Ability to multitask while adhering to project deadlines
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with advanced radio frequency design
- Experience with Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED;) reporting and logging
- Experience managing staff, leading engineering teams and project leadership
- Experience with firmware and software development (knowledge of high-level and low-level programming languages)
- Experience with EMI mitigation techniques
- Skills in DFT (Design for Test), DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and DFA (Design for Assembly)
- Previous experience interacting with procurement team members
- Experience with digital signal processing techniques used in modern radio systems
