Overview

Join our team as a Roofing Technician and play an important role in delivering high-quality roofing solutions for our customers. You’ll be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining residential roofing systems with a strong focus on workmanship, safety, and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work and has experience with shingle installation, roof flashing, skylight installation, ventilation, repairs, and proper waterproofing techniques. You’ll work as part of a skilled team to ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Duties

- Use hand tools and power tools to install, repair, and replace roofing materials such as shingles, metal panels, or membranes.
- Read and interpret project specifications to ensure accurate installation.
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment safely to support project needs.
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure watertight seals around flashing, vents, and other roof penetrations.
- Experienced in the proper installation of roof flashing, including step flashing, wall flashing, and chimney flashing, with a strong focus on waterproofing and quality workmanship.




- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal during and after projects.
- Experienced in the professional installation and flashing of skylights, ensuring proper waterproofing, sealing, and integration with the roofing system.

Skills

- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, utility knives, and measuring tapes.
- Construction experience with a focus on roofing or related trades like carpentry or handyman work.
- Strong knowledge of caulking techniques for waterproofing applications.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks required on roofing sites.
- Prior handyman or construction experience that demonstrates versatility and problem-solving skills.

- Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:
