Our Division & Communities

Foothills School Division (FSD) serves the learning needs of approximately 8000 students from preschool to grade 12. We operate 22 public schools, an online digital school, an alternative campus, and three colony schools. These are located in the towns of Okotoks, High River, and Diamond Valley, and the communities of Blackie, Cayley, Heritage Heights, Red Deer Lake, Longview, Millarville and Foothills County.

Applicant Eligibility

Forming Round 3 of the certificated staffing cycle for the 2026/2027 school year, the Foothills School Division welcomes all interested candidates to apply.

The Assignment

This position includes humanities at the high school level. The position includes both online and in person teaching components that spans Foothills Digital School, Foothills Outreach Education Centre, and Cameron Crossing School. Having relevant experience teaching both ELA and Social Studies is required.

Having experience in unique settings and training in Trauma Informed Practice is an asset.



The successful candidate will be required to be present at two different educational settings within Okotoks during the week.

The Candidate

Your teaching practice includes the ability to design and plan learning activities that transfer, and develop thinking competencies. Further, your practice assesses individual student variables to inform the design of meaningful and experiential learning opportunities and effective assessment practice.

Your ability to foster effective skilled relationships with student, families, staff and community is critical. You demonstrate a willingness to engage in extra-curricular activities and support students in the whole school experience that characterizes effective schools. Your capacity to integrate technologies and and support experiential learning that connects students to community resources within Maker-centered learning, CTF and CTS learning environments is evident.
