Objective: The Safety Coordinator works with our manufacturing team to promote a culture of safety. They build relationships with all stakeholders, ensure compliance, and ensure policies and procedures are expertly communicated.

Reports to: Health & Safety Supervisor

Direct Reports: None

Location: ManufacturingPlant

Main Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with all current safety legislation.
- Conduct daily safety walks through both facilities; identifying PPE conformance, safety concerns, etc.
- Manage Safety Program and suggest continuous improvements whiles identifying opportunities to promote a zero-incident safety culture.
- Develop, update, and review safety-related policies and ensure safe work procedures are in place for all required procedures.
- Conduct safety orientation for new employees and contractors, ensuring the information is current.
- Conduct internal safety training and maintain an accurate safety training record.
- Assist manufacturing employees to conduct job hazard analyses and conduct periodic machine inspections.
- Conduct safety audits with plant leadership ensuring recommendations are communicated and implemented.
- Assist in root cause analyses on all accidents and near misses and ensure recommendations are communicated and implemented.
- Process all necessary documentation including incident reports for work-related and non-work-related injuries.
- Coordinate return-to-work programs.




- Manage first aid kits and emergency equipment and ensure safety supplies are adequately stocked.
- Ensure safety records and documentation is current and organized and update safety information stations at each plant.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments.

Skills and Abilities:

- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong Organizational skills.
- Experience administering safety programs.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Education and/or Training:

- Excellent knowledge of current safety legislations.
- Post-secondary education in a safety-related program or equivalent experience.
- COR certification is an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
