We're partnering with a well-established Alberta organization to find an IntermediateAccountant for a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA who enjoys a mix of financial reporting, month-end analysis, process improvement, and special projects in a collaborative environment.
After an initial training period in the office, this role offers a flexible hybrid schedule with only 1–3 in-office days per month.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations, and working papers.
- Support financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Assist with year-end financial statements and audit preparation.
- Analyze financial data and provide reporting to support business decisions.
- Support treasury, cash management, and tax-related activities as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Participate in finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- CPA designation is required.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Experience preparing audit working papers and supporting year-end processes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a solid asset.
- Public practice, benefits, or insurance industry experience is considered an asset.
