Job Synopsis
MCC Furniture Thrift Store is a welcoming, justice seeking not-for-profit store, supporting the local and global relief, development and peace work of Mennonite Central Committee. The Sales Support Staff assists with general store operations within the store.
The Sales Support staff reports to the Manager and Assistant Manager of MCC Keewatin Furniture Thrift Store.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required
1. Post-secondary education is an asset
2. Retail/resale experience is preferable
3. Reliable, punctual and trustworthy; sound decision-making skills.
4. Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
5. Ability to provide leadership and take initiative.
6. Skilled in time management and ability to multi task
7. Co-operative, friendly, and helpful attitude toward clients, staff and volunteers. Ability to work closely with other staff to ensure positive, constructive environment.
8. Able to thrive in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment, while maintaining a sense of humor and a positive, solution-oriented approach.
9. Models an attitude that reflects the values of Mennonite Central Committee and MCC Furniture Thrift Store.
10. Able to maintain a flexible schedule including Saturdays as required.
11. Able to work independently and in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with scheduling the pickups and deliveries
- Customer Service in person, over the phone, or emails
- Operate the cash register and customer transactions
- Follow store opening and closing procedures
- Assist with directing volunteers
- Assists in arranging of furniture
- Assist with loading and unloading of pick-ups and deliveries
- Availability to assist with driving the truck on occasion
- Other duties as assigned (including housework)

Salary Details
Base salary: $17.77
Additional Information
1. Workdays may be 4-5 days per week (includes rotation of Saturdays)
2. Positive physical health with the ability to do manual work, including lifting and carrying some furniture items is required
