SUMMARY:
Responsible for operating abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare used turbocharger components for the rebuild process. Ensures parts are processed according to quality standards while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Abrade turbocharger components to remove scale, paint, grease, rust, dirt, and other contaminants using abrasive blasting equipment.
- Operate cabinet-style sandblasting equipment and manipulate parts to achieve specified surface finishes.
- Inspect finished components to ensure conformance with quality standards and specifications.
- Mask designated areas of parts to protect surfaces from blasting operations as required.
- Load, unload, and organize inventory and components within the work area.
- Record daily production totals and maintain accurate production records.
- Monitor material and supply levels and communicate resource requirements to the Shop Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of blasting equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies related to equipment operation and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support cross-functional production activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing processes.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and compressed-air equipment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or shop experience.
- Experience using hand tools, compressors, or abrasive blasting equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory handling and material movement processes.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Manufacturing/shop environment.
- Regular exposure to dust, noise, and production equipment.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive movement required throughout the shift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity required to handle parts and operate blasting equipment.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, compressed-air equipment, and material handling equipment.
- Visual ability to inspect components for cleanliness, surface condition, and defects.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
EXPERIENCE:
- Entry-level position.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or mechanical environments is considered an asset but not required.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
