Mini Kitchen is a growing Alberta food manufacturer. We produce cooking sauces, salsas, spice blends and tea blends sold in grocery stores across the province. We are looking for a hands-on person who takes pride in a clean plant and equipment that runs right the first time.
What you'll do
- Set up, adjust and change over production equipment — kettles, transfer pumps and a six-piston filler
- Set up and change over the chip line and dry blending equipment
- Disassemble, clean and reassemble the filling machine and product-contact parts
- Run the clean-in-place (CIP) cycle after production wraps for the day
- Mix and verify cleaning and sanitizer concentrations using titration kits and test strips
- Complete sanitation and pre-operational records accurately
- Handle minor mechanical adjustments and troubleshooting, and flag bigger issues before they become downtime
- Support general plant housekeeping and follow all food-safety procedures
What we're looking for
- Mechanical aptitude — you're comfortable taking equipment apart, putting it back together correctly, and using hand tools
- Fast on your feet and able to think critically — when something isn't running right,
you work out why instead of waiting to be told
- Reliable and detail-oriented; able to follow written procedures exactly
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working around cleaning chemicals (training provided)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a full shift
- Food manufacturing, sanitation or maintenance experience is an asset, but we will train the right person
- Food Safety and/or WHMIS certification is an asset
Why work here
- $1.00/hour night premium on top of base pay
- Health and dental benefits, plus RRSP matching
- Consistent Monday-to-Friday evening shift — your days stay free (occasional Saturdays, rarely)
- You run the plant on your own after production wraps; no one looking over your shoulder
- Small, tight-knit team where your work is visible
- Real chance to grow as the plant expands
