Cavendish Farms is looking for a SEASONAL Forklift Operator to join the Farm Team for a period of around 3-4 weeks, 10-14 hours per day. Expected start date is Mid September. The exact start date and period of work will be dependent on weather and business needs.
Work location: 1030 Greeno Rd, Chapman Settlement, NS.
Bonus: a bonus of up to $2.5 per hour is available upon completion of the season. It is based on performance, attendance, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklift.
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
- Use forklift to place pallets/boxes near running equipment in tight quarters.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment.
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities.
- All other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
- Forklift license would be considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- High degree of attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- Mechanical aptitude and previous experience in farm operations would be an asset.
- A keen understanding of the load and operational limitations of a forklift.
- Willing to help in other areas if needed.
