Senior Accountant

Location: Vancouver, BC

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent — in-office, with the chance to work from home one day per week

Compensation: $80,000–$85,000 annually (commensurate with experience) + performance-based bonus

The Role

Reporting to the VP, Finance & Operations, the Senior Accountant is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting and overseeing the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the mortgage portfolio and investments.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate mortgage portfolio records.
- Prepare timely, full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for all companies within the corporate group.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring they are timely, accurate, and audit ready. This includes journal entries, account reconciliations, schedules, working papers, and internal and external reporting packages.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements, including note disclosures.
- Serve as a primary contact for external auditors and bankers.
- Review mortgage funding documents.
- Coordinate approvals for funding requests and construction draws.




- Monitor cash flow and credit facility activity.
- Prepare quarterly GST returns.
- Prepare annual T5 tax slips for investors.
- Perform additional reporting and other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

- CPA designation.
- Strong accounting background with knowledge of IFRS.
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience; real estate accounting experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to continuously learn about commercial real estate and financial operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
